have called for an urgent action to halt spread of the fall armyworm which
threatens food security in Africa.

Ghana, plant protection experts have confirmed the invasion of the pest on some
local maize farms.
Affected
farmers say they are recording huge crop loss as the application of diverse
pesticides fails to control the disease.
