Poem: What a World!
In one world we all live
A world of integrated nations and empires
Yet we battle in constant chaos
For lack of cooperation and interdependence
A social solidarity needed for development
Where is the humanity in mankind?
In the face of plenty many wallow in extinction
Helplessly suffering in deprivation
More pain no gain!
A world of grave social emergencies
A world intoxicated in abject poverty
Yet in one world we all live
A few feeling safe and comfortable
Amassing all at the expense of many
Daring not to seek a better place for all
So hard so easy to understand
Where are the social architects?
Our world needs plans to build a tomorrow
A peaceful future based on truth of living
Where the wisdom of sharing is enhanced
And the power of justice is embedded
For our oneness must be fostered on trust
Let’s then work to secure sustenance for all
Then in one world we all will live!
