OMG… KAD is in the DREAM TEAM!

After months of intense training and assignments, KAD has been selected to be in the Dream Team to the FIFA World Cup, South Africa 2010.

Read letter below:

Dear Kofi,

The moment of truth has arrived. After several weeks of patience, we are proud to present the names of those participants who will make it into the Dream Team to the World Cup in South Africa. Congratulations!

You are among the 18 All Stars being chosen by our Twenty Ten Virtual Editorial Team: Chief Editor Greg Marinovich (photographer) is supported by Stefan Verwer (Lokaalmondiaal) and Dominique Le Roux (Africa Media Online).

Your tutors from the training nominated a maximum of 6 English or 4 French All Stars that had participated in the workshop. The selection committee chose from those nominated by the tutors on the bases of quality, participation and cooperation. The uploaded assignments A/B/C were the work that was judged, the progress reports of the tutors the guideline for who to choose

Together with 17 other journalists (photo, print and radio) you will travel to South Africa during the tournaments. Divided into three different groups, duration of each stay will differ from two- up to four weeks. The exact dispatch of the groups will be decided soon, after reception of the signed and returned reply sheet attached to this email.

Please keep in mind that being a member of the Dream Team means some weeks of hard work during the World Cup. We will not live in 5*-hotels, some of us will go on a road trip in campers through the country and nightshifts will be no exception. We all see it as a great adventure full of new challenges. Twenty Ten wants to tell African stories to the world and you will be (together with the All Stars) the storytellers of this historical moment.

We are looking forward to hearing from you very soon.

Kind regards,

Jens Kiesheyer
