Sampiyon Filters to establish production plant in Ghana

Sampiyon Filters, a leading global filter manufacturing company located in Turkey, would be establishing a production plant in Ghana by 2015 to serve as a base for the African market.

In line with the company’s strategic plan for Ghana, the company has already situated a warehousing facility to serve the filtration needs of Ghanaian consumers and for export to other West African countries.

This was announced by Mr. Selahatin Yilmaz, Board Member of Sampiyon Filter and Industrial Inc., and also in-charge of the company’s domestic and international sales and marketing activities.

“One of the major important goals for us is that we will be able to export Made-in-Ghana projects into Africa,” he stated at the launch of Sampiyon Filters in Kumasi.

Sampiyon export field has grown to more than 75 different countries all over the world and renowned as one of the largest private labeling filter supplier in Europe, Africa and the Middle East.

According to Mr. Yilmaz, the company’s investments would help create jobs as well as “benefit Ghana’s economic growth, reduce the deficit of imports and exports and have positive results on cost-reduction.”

Sampiyon Filter has over 2500 different production range including air, oil, fuel and hydraulic filters which are applicable for passenger, light, commercial and heavy duty vehicles.

The products were first introduced on the Ghanaian market in 2000.

“Ghana is the number one promising countries in the whole African region and we’ve been in the market for the last 30 years and we want to survive and keep surviving with our Ghanaian friends,” Mr. Yilmaz tells Luv Biz Report.

Former Majority Leader in Parliament, Alban Bagbin, who launched the product, wants Ghana to learn from the Turkey’ experience to advance the local economy.

“One of the things that we need to tap from Turkey is the fact that they were able within 10 years transform their country and here we have more resources than what they have in Turkey, so we can do it,” he said.
