One
area of life where people have difficulty keeping to their religious principles
is in business transactions.
Doing
business without bribery, undercutting, tax evasion and other unwholesome
transactions to maximize profits does not come easy.
But
some business leaders in Kumasi say they are poised to do business God’s way.
Chief
Executive Officer of Kessben Group of Companies, Kwabena Kesse believes Christians
in business should lead in healthy business transactions and not go contrary to
the dictates of the Bible.
“We
need to champion the cause and make sure the Christians take the lead in
managing our affairs, managing our businesses and be of good example to others”,
he stated.
Mr.
Kesse has been addressing a business seminar organized by the Grace Baptist
Church in Kumasi. Participants at the forum were schooled in best practices to
fund, run and succeed in business operations.
“The
good Lord has given us a direction that we need to focus our attention to and
make sure we can survive and be able to build a very big industry and that is
what some of us have started doing and this should be a sign for others to
emulate”, Mr. Kesse said.
Head
Pastor of the Grace Baptist Church, Rev. Robert Asante has acknowledged doing
business God’s way is not an easy task but emphasized that the desire to make
profit from business should not stand in the way of the desire to please God.
He
said people who allow God to be part of your business are not cheats, pay their
workers well, pay their taxes and do not indulge in corrupt practices.
Such
tenets pay off in the long while and the business flourish, the Reverend
Minister noted.
