Over
forty exhibitors from various sectors of the Ghanaian economy would partake in the
“Ashanti Business and Investment Fair” (ABIF), holding in Kumasi on May 15-18,
2014.
The
four-day exhibition event, under the theme “promoting
trade and investments through effective business networking”, features
organizations in the financial services sector, manufacturing, energy, small
and medium scale enterprises among others.
The
Fair, organized by the Business & Financial Times and BIA Conferences, seeks
to provide the platform for companies to reach their clients at a one-stop-shop
with their products and services. It is also expected to provide an avenue for
networking and the formation of partnerships between potential investors and
business organizations in the northern sector.
The
major highlights of ABIF 2014 include a series of investment seminars, a
business networking cocktail and a ‘Family Fun-day’.
Theodore
Lamptey, Events Manager, Business & Financial Times, said the fair will
create opportunities for businesses in the region and those planning to enter
the region to find a common platform to form strategic partnerships.
According
to him, event organization has become part of the company’s core operations and
the objective behind these events is to bring the practicality of the ideology
of Business & Financial Times to bear.
“Already
we seek to provide relevant business information to our audience as well as
potential ones and so this Fair is supposed to nurture business growth as well
as equipping participants with the information they need,” he stressed.
The
Ashanti Region, touted as the most populous region in the country, and the hub
of agribusiness, trade and commerce within the West African sub-region,
possesses enormous opportunities for business and investment.
“In
fostering economic growth and development therefore, Ghana’s Ashanti Region
cannot be ignored considering her strategic location. It has therefore become
necessary to create a viable marketing platform that would promote trade and
investment activities across the region in order to sustain and increase the
socio-economic development of the region and Ghana at large,’ stated Mr.
Lamptey.
